Topics include: word stress, intonation, rhythm and identifying problem sounds.

What You Will Study
Proper stress and intonation of English words – two syllable vs three syllable – i.e. – travel vs traveler
Rhythm – what is it (written) vs “wa-tiz-it” (spoken), want to (written) vs wanna (spoken)
Rising and Falling Intonanation and the different meanings – She’s very pretty (rising intonation) vs She isn’t very pretty (falling intonation)
Vowel sounds – “fit, fat, feet or sit, sat, seat”
Sibilants – i.e “Z – buzz”, “ZH – measure”, “ch – watch” SH vs. CH, J vs Y, L vs R, “B vs. V”
Reduction – “hot and cold vs hot n cold” “and” changes to “n”
Numbers – “40 vs 14, 50 vs 15”
